In cooperation with the Parc Schuman School and the organization Solar Solidarity International (AISBL), were organized creative workshops in two classes.
First, artist Alexandre Dang made a short course about renewable energies and more specifically solar energy in order to raise awareness on the potential of those energies. Then, children had the opportunity to create their own “Dancing Solar Flower” from a special edition “Fill in your own pattern” by artist Alexandre Dang. The children first cut out the outline of the mobile (flower, sun, cat, butterfly, heart, tulip) and then they colored it with their own pattern. Finally the pattern was set up onto a solar engine.
You may ask how a “Dancing Solar Flower” can move? Each “Dancing Solar Flower” is composed of a photovoltaic cell producing solar electricity that triggers the movement when there is light. The more light there is, the faster the “Dancing Solar Flower” moves! When covering the solar cell, the “Dancing Solar Flower” slows down!
Our way of life needs to move towards sustainable development: sustainable energies shall play a key role in the future. In this context, the solar-powered flowers contribute raising awareness of the potential of renewable energy for mankind and for the environment.
Enjoy and share sustainable solar art with people you love!
