Documentary of a Nepalese organization called FoST, which stands for “Foundation for Sustainable Technologies”. The organization FoST is providing low-cost, low-tech, easily-applicable and locally built sustainable technologies for improving the quality of life of poor rural communities and to protect the fragile environment of Nepal.
Nepal is a beautiful country and is famous for it’s cultural treasures, but Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and has many problems. FoST has been developing a wide selection of products such as parabolic solar cookers, solar ovens, briquette burners, solar dryers, solar water pasteurizers, water purification systems and heat retain boxes to fight burning issues such as poverty, pollution, deforestation, water-borne and smoke-borne diseases.
They are also working to further empower women by providing training and employment opportunities through projects designed to create micro-enterprises in sustainable technology.
The documentary was made by a Dutch family donating their time and skills to increase awareness for the founder of FoST Sanu Kaji Shrestha and all the dedicated volunteers working at FoST.
