Silicon Valley-based module developer Aptos Solar to partner with NEP on AC modules for U.S. market

Solar module developer Aptos Solar Technology and microinverter manufacturer Northern Electric Power (NEP) have joined forces to deploy high-performance AC solutions to the U.S. solar market.

The Silicon Valley-based companies have entered a collaborative partnership in which the design and engineering of their products are paired for optimal energy production while lowering the balance of system cost and reducing the installation labor time.

When high-power DNA solar panels from Aptos Solar Technology are coupled with microinverters from NEP, the result is an opportunity for solar contractors to maximize system energy harvest and avoid inverter clipping. This is the first AC module partnership announced after the release of NEP’s latest ‘macroinverter’ that is capable of converting 500 W_AC of power. Similarly, NEP’s popular BDM600 provides power to support two PV modules in one microinverter.

Currently, Aptos Solar’s DNA 60-cell module is rated in the range of 330 W while its 72-cell modules are upwards of 400 W.
