LG unveils two 66-cell solar modules reaching 425 W for residential market

LG has unveiled two new solar panels and upgrades to its NeON module line for 2021.

LG’s new 66-cell NeON R and NeON R Prime modules are back-contact modules that will be available to U.S. homebuilders and homeowners this spring. The NeON R has a power output up to 440 W, while the NeON R Prime (all-black) rates at 425 W. Both modules have an efficiency up to 22.1%.

“Today’s homebuilders know solar power is a very appealing option for many homebuyers, and our products provide carbon-free energy security and curb appeal,” said LG Solar USA Senior Director David Chang. “These new modules efficiently deliver high energy output and great resiliency, providing consumers the value and quality they demand.”

As with all LG solar panels, the NeON R and NeON R Prime 66-cell panels come with a 25-year limited warranty that covers product, performance and labor. At 25 years, these modules are guaranteed to produce at least 92.5% of their labeled power output.

Complementing the new panel introductions, LG is upgrading its NeON portfolio for both the residential and commercial space. New 2021 models include:

LG NeON 2 and NeON 2 Black Solar Panels: The newly updated versions of LG’s best-selling modules have increased power outputs. The 60-cell NeON 2 reaches 380 W with a 21% efficiency. NeON 2 Black also performs at 21% efficiency with a 375-W output.

LG NeON ACe Solar Panels: The enhanced 2021 NeON 2 ACe and NeON R ACe models also have updated power ratings. The NeON 2 ACe 60-cell AC panel features a power class of up to 375 W, while the NeON R ACe panel produces a direct current power output up to 395 W. Both modules are equipped with an integrated 320-W microinverter and lifetime access to LG’s EnerVu monitoring platform that tracks long-term performance and provides real-time analytics.

LG NeON H Commercial Solar Panels: The LG NeON H, 144-cell solar module delivers power outputs up to 455 W and efficiency up to 20.8%.

LG NeON H Commercial BiFacial Solar Panels: Available this spring, the NeON H BiFacial panels (144-cell) use a transparent backsheet. The dual faces of the cells allow for high energy generation, enabling the LG NeON H BiFacial panels to have a power output up to 445 W.
