Headline Solar installing solar array on Illinois pasta manufacturing facility
Headline Solar is installing its largest commercial solar project to-date, a 113-kW array in DuPage County at Mazzone Pasta in Bloomingdale, Illinois. The 30,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility will have 286 solar panels covering 7,793 sq ft of rooftop and generate an estimated 143,120 kWh in electricity annually for the next 30 years.
The facility plans to host a “power-up” ceremony following the solar panel installation.
“Our production business requires a lot of energy, which is expensive, and frankly has a significant impact on the environment. By transitioning to solar we are lessening the impact on the environment and saving money. This really is a win-win and is something we think our customers would agree with us as well. We hope to set a precedent for other large energy-consuming businesses in the county. As part of our community and as business owners we should all contribute positively to the environment and do our part where we can,” said Carl Mazzone, president of Mazzone Pasta.
Headline Solar will design and install the solar panel system for Mazzone. In the last year, Headline Solar has installed hundreds of residential solar panel systems for homeowners throughout the Chicagoland area. This will be one of the company’s first and largest commercial installations.
“Our customers all have different priorities from reducing their carbon footprint to saving money on monthly bills, but the exponential growth of solar energy is because there are so many benefits to commercial real estate owners, including increasing a property’s value and cash flow,” said Jared McKenzie, CEO & founder of Headline Solar.
